Thanks to everyone who has pre-ordered the new album so far on PledgeMusic! - http://bit.ly/n2zwBS
Many have been asking me about this new project; this post is to break it down.
PledgeMusic is the only place to pre-order my forthcoming album. Some of the ideas and packages available will only ever be offered here. The PM platform marries the best parts of crowd funding, direct to fan, and social networking, to include you in the album making and release process. Many of you have likened it to Kickstarter. It is that but it is also much more.
Next week, I’ll be headed into the studio to start laying down the framework which will be the new album. I’ll be tracking parts, and fine tuning songs. Here on PledgeMusic, I’ll be revealing candid bits from the studio in the form of updates – videos, photos, mp3’s, blogs – only to those whom have pledged. Think of this as the virtual diary; the making of the new album. It’s an exclusive window into the process. Pledgers will be first to hear the finished product before itunes, radio and other mediums.
My self imposed independence from major labels means many things, good and bad. But mostly good (See: Mission Statement 2013). It definitely means that there is no up front money to record, mix, master, and market the album.
That is where you and PledgeMusic come in. Your pledges ultimately accomplish all of these things. You are my de-facto record label. And 100% of the pledges go into making this album instead of paying someone’s salary and phone bill. The sales of the music go to the music!
There is value in the items offered, and I’ll be creating value in the updates to come. You’re going to enjoy the ride, just watch the video – http://bit.ly/n2zwBS

I suppose no matter what I’m drawing, there will always be some sort of question in my mind about it. A work of art (even cartoon art)is never really finished; it is abandoned.
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.
There is no abstract art. You must always start with something. Afterward you can remove all traces of reality.
